How AP Chemistry Scoring Works

• The exam has two main sections:
  • Multiple Choice (MCQ): 60 questions, 50% of total score
  • Free Response (FRQ): 7 questions (3 long, 4 short), 50% of total score

• Composite scores (100 total points) are converted to your ap score
• There is no official composite score to ap score conversion - this calculator uses the following estimates:
• 72 or higher = 5, 71-60 = 4, 59-48 = 3, 47-35 = 2, 35 or below = 1
